Dr. Alena Dernerová, neurologist and politician from west Bohemia, was awarded František Kriegel Prize for 2010. The František Kriegel Prize was created in 1987 in Stockholm. The current mission of the prize is to publicize acts of courage of individuals during the previous year carried out in the interest of protecting human rights, civil liberties, and political tolerance.
